Seems like there is a MAX unit on top of the tower ... the gun looks massive.

A few interesting things I notices between the two.
1. Different amounts of armor in shot two. Added leg, arm and lower torso armor for the terrans on the left, not for the ones in the back and right. Also, those with less armor also have a helmet without mouth guard and goggles. Also, slightly different helmet patterns and designs, as well as with the rest of the armor. 2. Screenshot one also depicts some of the light armor. Note that two of them appear to have the backpacks/possible jetpacks. One does appear to be taking quite a leap, implying he's about to use his pack. It also looks like the two who have jetpacks have goggles as well, which we don't see from the other soldiers using similar armor. There seems to be strong support for the return of both rexo and agile armor, and that agile armor will have the option of using jetpacks. 3. As manitou said, TR seems to be still using projectiles, as shown by ejection port, flash guard, magazine, etc. Also note ironsights. What really interests me is that the TR rifle appears to have a rate of fire selector with positions that seem to have 1 dot and 3 dots (probably bullets, but it's blurry.) It could just be artist's paying particular attention to detail, but could it also be an indicator that certain weapons in PS2 may have multiple rates of fire? (Semi-auto, full auto, three round burst perhaps?) I for one think semi-auto would fit in a game that firefights can take place at long distances, especially if developers is looking into more realistic ballistics and headshots. Ditto for a burst mode. 4. Tower design. The more we see towers, the more questions we seem to have. A lot of big changes, apparently. What stood out to me most was how the mid (and what seems to be the main or one of the main levels) is completely open to the outside. It seems like a good idea, given how difficult it was to get through a well guarded tower door, and may indicate new design directions for bases in general. 5. If you look at the top of the tower in screenshot 2... look! it's a VS max! and he's waving! Oh, if only I had a Phoenix there to say hi back. Oh yeah, back to the point. Given the *ahem* pointyness of that tiny silhouette, and the oversized right arm, it looks like VS maxes are almost identical to their concept art. I'm dying to see what the in-game model looks like. |
