I think you mistakenly base it on the storyline. If you base it on their doctrines you get:
TR = China (red tanks with double-barrels and miniguns, horde bonus)
NC = USA (the weaponry hitting the hardest, holding the longest)
VS = GLA (hit and run tactics, high mobility)
