We have nukes. We've used them. In fact we're the only nation to have ever dropped a nuclear weapon. Hell, just to prove a point we dropped two.

Sovereign nations understand what will happen if they use nuclear weapons. There's a reason it's called mutually-assured destruction. If Pakistan uses a nuke, India will use a nuke. If Iran uses a nuke, Israel will use a nuke.

Nobody likes Iran's government. Other Arab nations hate them (mainly because they're Persian). The rest of the world thinks they're a bunch of twats. When Israel was being attacked by Lebanese Hezbollah guerrillas, Israel rolled into Lebanon and started fucking shit up. In the Arab world, that's cause for every Arab with a rock or better to go and try to kick Israel's ass. Yet, because it was Hezbollah (which is funded, trained and backed by Iranian commandos), nobody said a word. Because it was basically Iran. Even the Iranian people hate their government. That place is ripe for an uprising, and if the survival of the Iranian people is threatened because its government is about to use a nuclear weapon, they'll start a revolution and make the Arab Spring look like an Arab Mildly Warm Winter Day.

Even though I'm socialist I think Obama vs Ron Paul would be a good fight. I've always been pro-national health-care, but I honestly doubt either side could ever pass anything regarding health-care with our current political system so even if Ron Paul was elected he couldn't really change anything I support that he doesn't. I could actually see myself voting for him.

Regarding Bachmann she seems insane to most Atheists much like a lot of people from the south seem. . So yeah... my hope if she was elected is she'd force an overthrow of government.

I'm pretty sure Ron Paul would be the first one to agree with you.

Plus much of what he wants would need the approval of congress, or even constitutional amendments. The president does have a lot of power, but not that much power.

At any rate, I'm a Paul supporter. I don't agree with a lot of his views, but the man has actual integrity. Something in precious short supply in washington.

That's the best part about Ron Paul. He's honest and consistent, and the points I disagree with him on would never happen anyway.

I agree with his foreign policy, which he would largely control. I agree with auditing and possibly eliminating the "federal" reserve. I agree with making drug laws an issue for the States, and I agree with lower Federal taxes and spending. I disagree with making abortion an issue for the States, but I doubt Congressional Democrats would let that happen anyway.

I like how the media ignores Ron Paul even though he fucking destroyed everyone in the GOP straw poll except Bachmann the Tea Party Darling... and pretty much everyone in the world except that stupid cooze knows that Ron Paul is smarter than her, so he'd destroy her in a debate.

Ron Paul + Peter Schiff as his economic advisor would fucking face-pwn every other candidate and their team, GOP or Tea Party or Democrat.

Love how everyone here has as of yet even paid any heed to Jon Huntsmen or in laymen terms "That other Mormon dude..."

You have to admire a decent minded moderate republican like him whose bold enough to rattle the caged minds of the blowhard right which makes up the base of that party by eloquently laying it down on them via his twitter feed:

To be clear. I believe in evolution and trust scientists on global warming. Call me crazy.
Well said.

I did see some stuff about Huntsmen, but I seriously doubt that he will even be considered by GOP. Bold and enlightened are bad words in their language.

No, Huntsman has no chance because he's for Government Interference in peoples lives to solve:
Global Warming
Healthcare

He's a big government solution kinda guy.

He's also boring, uninspiring and hasn't gotten ANY traction since he kicked off his campaign. The only ones that seem to like Huntsman are the folks that think the GOP Base is full of neanderthals.

Blink

Why would you gun for Nader??

Speaking of, they just upped the speed limits around here in San Antonio and finally, Texas is getting rid of the 5 MPH slower law on roads at night.

... The speed limit on I-10 from Kerrville to the NM border is 80. I35 will be 75 vice 70.

Speed limits in San Antonio have been stuck at 60 forever, now they are a reasonable 65 on the 410 Loop.

that stupid night 5mph slower bit has been annoying for years.

Glad to hear they are getting rid of that, pretty dumb to have a lower limit at night.

As of midnight on 01Sep11, you can ignore the NIGHT Speed limits.

Texas is the only state with a night-time speed limit, but not for long.

Starting September 1st, slower night-time speed limits will be a thing of the past. On Thursday, TxDOT will take down more than 500 sundown speed limit signs and conduct speed studies to determine what Texas roads can handle 75 and 85 mile-per-hour traffic. To do that, they will be looking at road conditions, traffic and surrounding development.

While officers ensure they will only increase the speed limit on roads that can handle it, some drivers are still concerned.
