Speaking of, we my all be over thinking it a little here. We are all kind of avoiding the blatantly obvious title of "Planetside 2". Now, the reason for this seems to come from a blog from Smedley saying they learned their lesson having Everquest and Everquest 2 on store shelves at the same time.

Well, I think any of us would be hard pressed to find Planetside in any store, and I can't imagine they are selling many new copies.

On top of that, SOE owns the domain "Planetside2.com" which it looks like they bought in 2009.

They bought that domain so they could have it redirect to their site. Its not going to be called PlanetSide 2.

Well yeah, thats what it does now on 2/3/11. But it should be interesting to note that they own "Planetside2.com" but they don't own "PlanetsideNext.com"

It may come down to something trite like that.
