I would think since PS4 is pretty much a PC that Sony would be able to pull off a cross platform server, the technology is there and it really makes $ense to do it. Also Sony has been developing PS2 and the PS4 at the same time so why not design them for cross platform play? It will be interesting to find out if they want to innovate in that direction or not.

>PS2 is a game that is about massive battles. If PS4 players join us on the PC servers, we have more players and more massive battles. |

On a sidenote - well, as long as the console players are treated as inferior, I'm fine with it. In more gentle words - PC should remain the main platform for PS2. |

And agreed an excellent trailer that showcases what the game is about. |

upd: When SOE started PS2 testing they were targeting... regular PCs? mediocre PCs? Something like that. We know what it did end up with. Last edited by Maidere; 2013-06-05 at 02:07 PM. |

And it's not all about hardware specs with consoles. With the commonality of them being the same device there is little overhead. Developers can essentially code to the metal if they wanted to. Doubt they will but the driver overhead in a specific purpose computing platform is minute compared to general purpose.

If this means that features which require more than a few button presses (stuff like VGS commands, macros and the like) get scrapped because you can't have them work with a controller...
I will be royally ticked off Console and PC versions had better be developed separately, I don't want them to intrude on each others features, user interface elements and the like. |

I think there would be positives and negatives either way but I would like to see Sony go for it because ultimately I think it would provide more support overall for PS2 (on the PC specifically) if the PS4 is cross platform. Last edited by VaderShake; 2013-06-05 at 02:47 PM. |

As long as the console players don't get any aiming aid and the PC game doesn't lose features, whatever, I don't care. But it won't happen. They don't want a bunch of controller-users getting completely dominated and they don't want a big title to require a KB/Mouse when most console games are played from the couch in front of a TV.
