Gothic is a great series. Although I found Gothic 4 to be nothing like the others. They made a lot of changes to it.

Both of them are amazing, the only shame with KotOR II was that they were forced to finish it which caused a lot of content to never make it in-game. There's a mod out there that will add some of the removed content back in the game though, you can get it here. (Not 100% it's the latest version, so do a double check)

those of you, who don´t care for top notch graphics, but love a great space epos with a fascinating story and loads of aliens who all have their own personality, try star control 2!
it is a kind of action adventure and you can play it for months. it is even free now because it went open source and the fans made an excellent new version for actual operating systems.

there also is an alien race in this game that EXACTLY talks like stew!

One of my most favorite underrated games was Jupiter: The Nexus Incident; it's reminiscent of Homeworld, which was epic.

Awesome space battles in 3D with customizeable ships of all classes using true Newtonian physics and firing arcs battling it out through an excellent story line.
