I don't hate to say it. He doesn't have a clue. This is almost on par with Birthers.

We all learned how gravity works in grade school. It's been proven. There's this ride at amusement parks, I dunno if you've ever seen it, it's called the Gravitron. You yourself can generate gravity by spinning in a computer chair that has a 360 pivot joint. Pilots of performance aircraft experience gravity all the time. There's already a device that generates artificial gravity but it's far too large and far too expensive to employ anywhere (and let's be honest, we don't need it with our existing space capabilities except maybe on the ISS). Furthermore, we know how to simulate weightlessness because we know how gravity works and thus science has calculated how to achieve it (hint: fall at the same rate as everything else in space).

I suppose next you'll try to tell us that we don't know why the sky is blue.

I'll asset it's my personal opinion, stemming from the facts and information I know about how the Universe works mate. All I can give is my own opinion on it
Morto wanted to know when we thought time began, I gave him my answer.

He was asking for a scientifically verifiable answer, not a random opinion.

well since Stephen Hawking agrees with me or it would be more correct to say I agree with his hypotheses, backed up by a very large field of scientific data I think it's an opinion that has darn good legs under it, *flash's some leg*

Hamma, I would like to say one thing to you that I feel I've never said before: thank you for not being a prick about your religious beliefs. In all the time I've known you, I've never known you to be one of those in-your-face you-are-wrong atheists.

How do you know there was nothingness before the universe?

No actually it didn't have too, it as I belive or agree with people who have greater knowlege of it than I, did just spontanously pop into existence. You thinking right now bs that can't happen but it is happening right now on a quantum scale, things do just pop in and out of existence, they've been seen and recorded

The concept of "nothingness" is a human concept. It's kind of jumping to conclusions to say it had to come from somewhere as if at one point it didn't exist. Maybe not in its original form. It's a rather complex subject. I believe PBS had a video or nova on "nothing" before.

I don't. So I don't go around telling people that someone created the universe and I don't go around telling people who say "nobody created the universe" that they're wrong.

It doesn't concern me, it doesn't affect my paycheck or the food on my table, and it doesn't affect how I drive my car or fuck my women. It will not affect me when I am old and dying. It will not affect me in this life or the next, if there is such a thing.

Wasting my time arguing with simpletons or with for/against zealots does, however, affect my life. Because neither camp can prove anything.

Regurgitating Stephen Hawking's theory is okay, as he is qualified to have an opinion on it. I thought that you were just giving us the unqualified opinion of Internet Forums User Canarais.

Yes it is. I wasn't heated at you, forgive me if it came off that way. Wasn't heated, period.

I just want to point out all three of these statements are wrong.

Thanks!

Only time I really talk about it is if someone asks or if I get into a thread like this. But to be honest - as long as it doesn't mess with me or my rights to each his own. People are allowed to believe however they want to it isn't my place to tell them it is right or wrong.
