Of course that's totally untrue depending on who you hire but Alienware's #1 aspect that I love is actual customer service and not shitty "Thank you for calling Dell, I have no idea what I'm doing and in fact have never even seen the inside of a computer, but let me just ask you 30 minutes of inane and insulting questions before even asking what your problem is" customer service
Exactly. I give props to you "l33t PC builders" but no matter how "l33t" your asses are.. hardware CAN become corrupt and hardware CAN burn out.

If I had built my own computer and this problem had occured, i would be out a good chunk of change. As is im getting it fixed for FREE.

And not only are Alienware cases entirely too cool, we got matching keyboards and mouses (my cute lil mouse with alien logo = )

So can you actually play the game now Tek?

And yeah. I want an Alienware just for the intelligent things they did with the case, especially directed cooling onto the GPU from the case. The way modern DX9 GPUs get hot enough to make toast I want all the airflow to the GPU I can get thank you.

alienware is far from a ripoff, sorry.

Their tech support is the best out there hands down. With dell you get people who have such a heavy accent that you cannot understand what they are saying. If you ask them to repeat themselves they become rude, and most of the time they won't solve the problem.

Alienware actually takes pride in making quality computers. They're built by gamers themselves, optimized by gamers. And as you can see, they will go to great lengths to see their customers happy.

Alienware may be pricey, but it is damn worth it in the long run.

Hey Lise. I been able to play for a while. I just had to use my old 1.6ghz GeForce 3 PC. Grahics aint nearly as good but at least i can play w/out the 2-10 min crashes.

Yeah the case is designed well. They even have sensors inside the case that measure heat and energy usage. A "watch dog" program was put on my taskbar that alerts me when a component is getting to hot.

So far ive only had it get too hot once, when i was at college and our air conditioning broke and i was playing WarCraft 3 for like 10 hours straight

Same here. I stay as far away from retail as possible.

Led if you can find a forum that tells you how to fix a corrupt/burntout peice of hardware for FREE... ill worship you.

But chances are your hanging out on a D&D Forum with nerds who think Silicon Transmutation IV is an actual real life spell.

Different computer, same ol' Tek.

And did you ever figure out why Planetside doesn't feel like working on your other rig, Tek?

People who are tired of beating their head into a wall because their computer is not working, have posted all over the place looking for solutions, are told to try what they've already tried numerous times much of which is contradictory but tried anyway out of desperation and just want their computer to be more than a 50 lbs paperweight.

The thing about Alienware is they don't fuck around when trying to get it to work for you. They actually get to the bottom of it and much quicker than your average PC retailer. People who ask "yeah, umm the retractible cup holder just broke" don't buy alienware either for the most part, they buy Dells

Right now I'm in the process of trying to figure out why Planetside is going apeshit (I say apeshit because that's about the only way to describe it, got lots of...interesting screenshots though if someone wants to host them ) after 5-15 minutes of play with the only way to temporarily fix it being a restart of my computer, which nets me another 5-15 minutes of playtime. This after playing all of open beta and most of retail wih no problems at all. It's frustrating as hell
