High school will be some of the best years of your life. You will probauly end up loosing all your old middle school friends and meeting a bunch of new ones. The new people you meet will be a lot more fun to hang out with then your old ones. Don't be an ass to your old friends though, still be nice.
Sports and clubs are very important, GET INVOLVED. You wanna do at least 1 sport, two is better, Three starts messing with your grades. Community service isn't too bad either. Ask your school if they have Habitat for Humanity. You help build houses for poor people. Not shitty house's either. Its a good program. Get in good physical shape! I cannot stress how important this is! you don't need to be ripped but look sharp! By the end of your freshmen year you'll notice a lot of the petty boundries have dropped. Their will still be a few but they are their for a reason. Don't tamper with them. Some people just shouldn't talk to others. School and grades, do well, this shit counts now. Good grades in highschool determine where you go to college. You don't wanna go to community college. Drugs... waste of time and money don't bother BEER=YES, the first time even at a party you may not like it, but you just want more for some reason, its weird. also remeber Jaged, I remeber a long time ago you talking about doing some report for school on Planet Side. Video games don't make you popular in high school. They are a past time that a lot of people you will find that are not extremely interested in... espically girls.

Seriously, don't change yourself to get by easier. Don't change yourself to avoid conflict. Don't change yourself to get friends. Don't change yourself to fit in. Be yourself (yes I know its corny, but I don't give a damn, it is one of the best peices of advice a person can give another person).

Bighoss is a very wise person, (s)he has been through life but has not forgot how it is to be a "real" person. Be popular, be fit, be smart, and good things in life will come to you. You will go through high school meeting lots of very cool people and you will form some of the best memories of your life. If you follow MilitantBob's method you will go through high school being singled out, ignored by girls, tormented by your peers, and do lousy in school. If you want all that, just to be able to tell us (since no one will want to hear your story) that you are not a conformist and you are sticking it to the man go for it, but I highly recommend you listen to Bighoss. And to Bighoss, bravo, if you have kids now, or plan to, try to remmember what you posted here, hopefully your kids will be able to gain from your experiences. Squick |

High schools rocks.
I have a tendancy to make friends very easily, so by the end of my freshman year I was friends with everyone, and everything. Just be yourself, that is all you can really do.

Learn to stay with other freshman. Don't want to bump any upper classmen. Pay attention while moving in the halls and you just may learn how traffic works and how to navigate it successfuly and properly.
EDIT: And kick ass on your report card. Colleges take a long, hard look at your freshman year. |

A LOT of juniors and seniors are gonna won't to throw you in a trashcan. The first friday of the school year at my old high school was freshman friday, where almost every freshman was in a trashcan by the end of the day. (My favorite day). That is unless some one said, Hey this guys cool leave him alone. My point is make a friend or two with some upper classmen. It's like knowing a cop, they can get you out of trouble sometimes. I'm ashammed to say it but I've actually kept a couple freshman out of trouble before. |

I wasnt a comformist or whatever and now I'm better off the the most popular jock that was in high school. I actually met him at mcdonalds... he's a mop boy... Good grades, being fit and popular isnt everything... if you fit in forget about having a bright future... forget about doing a shitload of money! Your gonna end up in a dead end job with a normal salary. Sure there is gonna be those tough times... everyone will have some at one point or another in their lives... All I can say about sticking with freshmen... is: PPPFFTT! When I entered High school I had a shitload of people on my side that were seniors etc. Don't be like everyone else... stick out...
