well, take out the third person veiw and it is, to a degree, i mean online really, like 1 shot your dead, and when i say online, i mean if you also forget the fact that noone stays together and use tactics, and all the cheaters. okay, you win, its not realistic at all
but you know, one thing i like about call of duty, is that it feels very cenimatic

Example: BF is not a WWII game, guess how many StG44s used in north africa, exactly NONE, believe it or not almost every german soldier wielded a Kar 98k. But somehow reality offended these people, so they had to give maybe half of the German pop (and by half i mean of people that make a difference, i.e. not idiot snipers) StGs, because a Bolt Action weapon couldn't possibly be fun. There method of balancing the game is as shallow as it gets as well, make the weapons nearly identical. (axis/allied engy rifles is the best example.) BF is just one of the many examples of games that simply pillage the time period because they are to stupid or lazy to come up with there own setting, with the end product having almost no resemblence to it's place of theft.

Can you reload the M1 Garand in "Call of Duty" without firing off all of the 8 rounds in the rifle? This was possible to do in real life yet every so-called "realistic" WW2 game has said it is was not.
Proof: http://sgthammer.50megs.com/garandeject.jpg That's my M1, and the way you reload the eject the enbloc clip from the receiver is to pull back the charging handle and press that button in, once doing that the enbloc clip and whatever rounds were in it are ejected from the top of the rifle. Just curious is this game has this feature or not, if it does it gets an extra star to the 5 I've already given it in my mental judging. Oh yeah and uh go Planetside! |
