Oops.. 9600xt is 8X not 4X. I want to say is that 9600XT uses 4 pipelines....
Thx Daleon for pointing out the Price vs Performance issue and the graphic card issue.
I'm just trying to help ppl save some money!!!!!!
I agree that Dell has some over price High-end computers..
But he is looking for a mid-range computer, and dell has cheap mid-range comps.
Do not miss this year's Black Friday!!! many comp stores have some good deals.
This Wednesday CompUSA has the 160GB hard-drive for $80....

This is my suggestion for you.
If you can't wait for a good cheap dell.
Go to Ebay and auction a Dell 8300 for about $680 before shipping cost
1 month ago there was a killing deal for Dell 8300.. ofcourse I got one and sold it over Ebay.
Make sure the dell 8300 is 2.6HT 512 RAM has the 9800np card, 80GB,
48X CDRW
The Dell 8300 is a better mobo.. it works with "Prescott"
I think it is kinda hard to find the Dell 8300 anymore... but try your luck..

Just remembe this:

A top of the Line P4 3.2ghz 800mhz fsb with a gb FAST ram, 9800 pro/xt a good well cooled case and all the usual fixings built yourself beats the dell thats made that way by almost a k,
with higher mem can cost up to 6600 dollars. i know! or will soon. I have to cut the 344 dollar raid card and only get one 250gb HDD. Ill wait till i get the workstation.8) oh well no 1.25-1.5 terabyte HDD. -1376$

Mine should only cost 4200$. Big difference nomatter how you look at it And Thats withough speakers or printers etc.

So it may not be that bad to say "im getting a dell". if its good enough.

Fatwallet is similar to AnandTech's hotdeals forum. Whenever a SMOKING deal is put up anywhere on the net, it gets posted at these places and everyone there goes and rapes the deal heh. Some really nice deals pop on there, you just have to be fast.
