Blink was good around dude ranch, but enema of the state was totally more poppy and comercialized. And it's not that bands get big is hwy peopel don't like them, it's becasue their music changes.

It's a fact. Record companies pressure their artists to change their music to what they think will sell.

BUT anyways, strange how BLink got a WAY better drummer, but their music started to suck more.

Being a senior citizen (31), I find that I hate most of the new bands. Half of them sound like some corporate office full of stuffed shirts picked their members out of a hat, attached a name/number combo to them and signed them for multiple record deals.

I like a lot of older rock and roll and newer club/trance. I wonder if the old-skool rockers would even have a shot in today's phony music industry.

Nowi wouldn't go around branding all of toady's music as bad just because these corporate mainstream bands suck. Listen to more of the independent rock and you'll find the good stuff.

So that makes you... 14 or so? (J/K)

Seriously though, I don't like blink, they're manufactured (now), and the logo on the new album looks WAY too much like the Nirvana face, which pisses me off to no end.

They used to be a pretty good band, but I don't like their sound, so I don't like it (don't say "give it a try", I've listened to ALL of their albums)
The only decent song, and the only Blink 182 song I like is "Adams Song", It's the best track they've recorded.

Couldnt agree more. Travis is a great drummer, but since they got him, they started sucking.

First wave ska is like jamaican regae stuff. 2nd wave is like the british 80's scene with Madness and the like. 3rd wave ska is like Less than Jakes older stuff [while they have changed a lot, i still like them]. Less than jake are no further away from original Ska than the 2nd wave bands like Madness were, yet no one bitches at Madness for bastardising the genre.

Same goes with so called 'punk-rock' - sure, Blink arent [definately not now, but never really were, except maybe in the Chesire Cat/Buddha days] punk-rock in as much as the Sex Pistols and the Buzzcocks were, but then maybe they are jsut 2nd wave Punk? Give them a break, it's only a fucking label. You cant dislike a band jsut because someone else claims they are punk.

I personally think Blink's newer stuff is better than their older albums. But I'm like that with many bands. IMO Cheshire Cat wasn't that great of a CD. I like their newer stuff more.

Btw im 16 frag

Yeah, chesire cat wasnt great. Some songs were good. Dude Ranch is one of my favourite albums of all time. Has so many great songs. Their latest album is pretty good too, but the 2 in between werent too hott.

I consider them pop-punk (it is a category, ya know?) and fairly enjoyable. Don't own any albums, have no hate for them, like some of their songs. As far as pop-punk goes I'd rather listen to The Descendents though. Then again, I'm old.
