I guess its a way to promote the game, Machinma (Movies made with gaming engines) is a growing medium, you can get big prize money at awards not to mention lots of notice.
I won't be surprise if you did ask SOE to give you free accounts so you can make a movie in the next 2 months they might seriously consider it. After all CC was a kind of a set back.....

Geebus... you guys are never going to let this go.
If you want me to admit that I bit off more than I can chew so be it. SOA was too much work. I was coming from movies that generally took a day to film and produce maybe a weekend at the most. I thought it would be a fun challenge to produce something larger and I even had doubts after the trailer was completed that it was possible to do something this large in a reasonable time frame. Boy my gut feeling was right WAY TOO MUCH TIME! As some of you said, it started to become more of a "Fuck Machinma" film which is not what MALVISION has ever been trying to do. (hate that term hence the MALVISION t-shirt slogan ) I like the idea of the community being involved in every aspect of the game film production. Actually I had thought that getting people more involved in all aspects would reduce the work load on my end. It unfortuately didn't... it just added management on the top of everything. So rather than lead people on any further SOA was removed from MALVISION as I don't want to hold back the other filmers from producing some PS series themselves. (sorry still can't have the script Biohazzard ) I look forward to see what people can come up. |
