Neon, they give me that shit all the time because I game a lot. The white trash swimmer kid who's in a lot of my classes is always like:

Eric: "I work out ALL the time! What's that, John (me), you only work out SOME of the time and don't swim or play basketball? What else do you do? Oh, you play guitar and computers? You're a nerd, only white kids do that!"

Me: "Umm... Eric? You're whiter than I am."

Eric: "No way!"

I hold up my arm, which, if I stayed in the sun more, you might mistake me for being Indian. He's lighter than those beige covers you see in lots of hotel beds.

Me: "See?"

Eric: "Who cares, I'm culturally darker than you. I do a sport, swimming. You play guitar, that's so white trash."

Me: "No, playing guitar, though it is typically thought of as a white thing, is not white trash. You ever see chicks insult guitar players for being 'white trash'? No. And I do karate, I do a sport where you train to kick people's asses. You train to cross small bodies of water. My sport has much more life-use, especially in security or miltiary fields."

I work for a rather large electronics retail chain as a service technician. I've seen and heard some of the stupidest things from my customers mouths. One of the more often heard use of incorrect terminology is customer's calling the unit their modem. Customer's look at me like I'm stupid when they ask me how much a new modem costs and I inform them they start at $30.

i dont have people constantly make fun of me, im friends with almost everyone i know, i only talk about computers and games to people that are interested in them, then people here me talk and theyre like wtf are you talking about, i just be cool and say its games stuff and that it doesnt concern them, usually they just turn around but ive gotten people into certain games by telling them more, oh and dont talk about games when girls are around, its like a flame button for them, i just dont talk much about computers at school

That sounds like my mandatory computer apps class. I don't know a ton about computers but I know enough to point out the basic parts and know the important terms. I was the only person in my entire class who knew what the processor was...
