I entered the beta for that game in Phase 3, (December of 2001) and played it all the way until release (Sept. 2002). By that time I'd beaten just about every mission, every mob, had played almost every race, and most of them averaged around Rank 120 (I think my highest was 134, I never bothered to max him out). I was one of the more powerful characters on the server to be sure. Used to go hunting with a group of Devs in Nifelheim, one of the coolest experiences I've ever had in a game. (Nothing beats having a dev insta-kill a nasty mob whos causing you trouble!
) I also was 3rd in command of UPATE guild, which had around 300 or so members at one point I believe. It was pretty nuts.
Anyhow, I agree, EnB is an amazing MMORPG. I pretty much stopped playing it after release (nothing left for me to do, patches too few and far between), and it saddened me when EA hired new staff
The Westwood Dev team really rocks, such a nice group of people who not only did their best to make the players happy, but really loved to get into those servers and game as well! Great game, a pity its being shut down...
