The french got a security council position because of their help with forming the UN, also, which the US gave many countries veto power to get them to join(Russia and China)


BTW, france disagreeing with the US with recent events doesn't mean the French backstabbed and lied for the course of the 20th century, you're either lacking history knowledge(ironic as you claim so many others do) or you're just ignoring what you know

France sold Nuclear Technology to everyone they could find as soon as they got the technology from the US (out of pity, we thought they'd use it for good purposes).

For a decade, France bought oil from Saddam with weaponry used to opress the people and kill our soldiers protecting Kuwait.

Then, during the run-up to the second invasion of Iraq, France had the audacity to claim WE were going after Iraq for oil. Which is just plain retarded when you realize that we are just rebuilding their country so they can sell the oil to an OPEN MARKET.

1. Why is it so hard to see? I leave out one word. France. It made sense to other people, just not you. France helped the US greatly(perhaps the thing that 'turned the tide' and gave the necessary power to push out the British and keep them out)
2. France isn't important? So only countries that agree with the US in recent events are important? What you're saying makes no sense. France has done a lot historically, and is one the largest economic powers in the world.

Idiot. The worst thing that the State Department approved to trade with Saddam (during the Iran War when Iran was the greater evil) was 60 Hughes helicopters and 45 Bell 214ST helicopters, which may have been used to drop chemical weapons on Iran.
