Yes, a creature that can not physically interact with, effect, communicate with, or recognise our existance might as well consider us non existant.
The moment we can recognise the existance of such a thing, that all changes. What if there are sentient creatures among us that can only live in low light and when you turn on a light you are killing hundreds of them. They have no way of effecting us. We have yet to recognise that creatures like this exist, but it is possible. So should you avoid turning on lights to save these creatures that could possibly exist? Or should you continue living your life the way you do now?(where for all intents and purposes, you treat these low light creatures as if they don't exist) If ever we could recognise these creature, we should take them into account. Until we are able to recognise their existance, we are going to continue to act as if they don't exist.

its an unanswerable question. Like you will never be able to describe nothing to me or what it looks like. You will never be able to imagine or describe infinity because we can't comprehend the thought

Since life has occured on this planet, that would definately not rule out the possibility of there being life on other planets. BTW we have found evidence of life outside of the Earth. Unfortunately it is not conclusive evidence. http://solarsystem.nasa.gov/whatsnew/pr/010226F.html

On topic: There very well could be a planet that could support multicellular life, and therefore possibly sentient life. Many of these planets could be Billions of years older than our solar system because our Sun is a relitively young star. Then again, if there is sentient, intersteler life, why the hell would it want anything to do with us?

That being said there is indeed life out there, it's not a possibility it's a certainty. There's just no way earth is the only planet in millions to have life, granted the only life on planet Y in galaxy X might just be some type of bacteria of some type of primitive lifeform but there is life out there for sure and most likely there is also intelligent life out there somewhere as well. |
