Flight Space Sims

X2 isn't bad. I'm playing it right now. Just that it eats
up a lot of resources in heavy space battles. I'm playing
it on my Alienware Laptop that I also play PS on the road
with, and it stutters it's way through any combat with
more than 20 or so ships in the same area.

I haven't tried it on my desktop yet, because I haven't
set it back up from when I went to Korea for a few weeks.

Freespace 2. Best Space sim I've ever played, and I've played a bunch. Freespace 1 was awesome too. Hell the source code for that game is free now (company went out of business I think), no doubt you can get it off the internet somewhere.

Freespace 2 fucking owned, tie fighter was awesome too (cd broke on me though, /sad), but freespace 2 was better.

EDIT:I'm waiting for a new MMO Space flight game. I think I've played JumpGate out. Right now Vendetta On-line looks to be the best. Even though I'v4e heard the game has a strafing command which quite hnestly is gonna suck. It's gonna be whoever moves the most random direction will win the dog fight.

Well, I know they gave up on the Freespace series (a real pity, I signed a petition for a Freespace 3) so maybe that is why.

I've read the source code for Freespace 2, and I have to say as a budding programmer, it is amazing.
