It's not a pyramid scheme because you have to buy a product, therefor you are receiving something for your money. True pyramid schemes are illegal in the US.

I'm sorry, but the fact that this thread exists is utter BS. I posted this exact thing over a month ago, was met with nothing but rudeness and locked by OMA (hence my sig).

For what it's worth, my iPod is shipped and should be arriving at my house on Thursday. The 'community' at PSU got me a big fat 0 of my 5 referrals.

I did, and it doesn't register that I did it.

Also, the 5 people I put in as referrals - it said one of them had been used already. So I replaced the one name that it said had already been used. I clicked "submit", and it told me the four that were remaining from the last time had already been used.

And it's still telling me my offer hasn't been completed yet. I did it last night

I'm not sure what you mean by the first part of this, but as for the second part a lot of the offers take days to show as complete on their site. The Blockbuster one in particular takes a long time. My recommendations on which ones to use are Infone, which gives you credit instantly and you don't even have to cancel (you'll only be charged if you actually used the service more than 5 times) and Ancestry.com which is actually fairly cool, gives you a 2 week trial to check it out and isn't too hard to cancel (but be sure you do cancel before the 2 weeks is up, $200 on your credit card would be a rude surprise).

Word of warning on the site, however. Once you've completed everything you've got over a month to wait for the product to ship. It's free, so you can't really bitch, but they tell you it's a week or two and not 5. I placed my order on 8/5 and it just shipped out on Friday.

I wouldn't say this community is overrated one bit.

When Starbum's girlfriend was getting trouble from this guy, we all called the guy and pranked him. Starbum reports that the girl has not heard a word from him since.

When I asked what I should get Martyr for his birthday, Glaynor mailed me discount coupons from Kenneth Cole so I could get him clothes.

When Frag's family was getting him down, we were all here to make him feel better and make him realise how kick-ass he really is.

When Hamma and Jen announced they were getting married, they got a reception of a lifetime from this group.

When Dharkie needed a new mouse, someone stepped in and got it for him.

When the Mobilization was running low on funds, an "anonymous" member donated a huge chunk of change.

And when the Mobilization looked like it'd be held without Hamma, Jen or Mars, another anonymous donor supplied them with plane tickets.

Looks like you just lucked out. I love this community so much that I've donated so much time to getting us together each year so we can enjoy the cameraderie in person.
