That's not what I'm saying at all. I'm talking about how somehow celebrity raises oneself in every sense of importance. If you take a trip to Iraq, it's gonna be on the news. If you fucking have lunch with somebody, it's gonna end up somewhere. If you die, you are expected to be respected by the public because you were famous and your death is so tragic.
Well I'm saying fuck that. If I thought Christopher Reeve was a good person (Rodney Dangerfield I cared about because he truely was the man, and would have been the man even if he wasn't famous) at heart, then I would be all "oh that sucks" too. But his celebrity really has nothing to do with it to me. So what if he was Superman? So what if he rose awareness for an affliction only after he fucked himself over with it? If I don't think that he, in any context other than him being a celebrity, would be mourned over genuinely for who he was as opposed to what he played, then I would be all for saying that this sucked.
But I'm just an angry little kid who has no pretense in reality.
