That was the most barbaric, immature, disgusting disgrace that I have ever seen amongst "professionals".

Everyone involved should be ashamed of themselves for acting like rabid dogs.

If you think that's disgusting, don't watch hockey. Or some of those European Football riots, from what I hear.

See, with hockey:

a) the players are heavily padded

and

b) they don't bring the debacle into the stands, where people have paid to watch you do your job.

The players are heavily padded yes, but when they fight they don't wear helmets so it's all the same really.

And they don't bring the fights to the fans? Jeez, I was at a game where Domi fought a fan in the penalty box.

Also, you cannot compare the fighting in hockey to those in basketball. Some of the guys in hockey are paid to fight, paid to knock heads off.

Am I the only person who is on the players side? As I quoted and Vince Carter said before, "If you were walking down the street and someone threw something at you, would you just let it slide?" No, definitely not.

Edit: Agreed General, what the Pacers did vs. the Magic is nothing short of a miracle.

First of all, this isn't football, and the player AREN'T PADDED (if you mean security, check again)

If you reveresed the roles, and Wallace was lying on the bench in INDIANA, I GARUANTEE there would have been no beer thrown on him, and Artest has learned enough not to provoke like BOTH "Wallace brothers" did.

Fans...They had nothing to do with it..I mean did you see them...They were VERY respectful.....

Hockey buddy, I was talking about hockey in response to Trigger's comment.

That last sentence is sarcasm, right?

Just because Artest is recieving a paycheck in the 7 digits doesn't make him open to assault.

There were obviously better ways to handle it however. Such as simply pointing the fan out to the ref, I'm sure the permanent ban from the stadium would of been a much larger punishment.

it was a bunch of assholes acting like animals.

look, in a situation like that, where you are in a sports arena and you are a professional sports player, you have to act like a professional. It isn't the streets. It isn't some back alley. It's a fucking sporting event. Artest and the rest of his lackeys that went hopping up into the stands to pound on people had no fucking business doing what they did, I don't care if they were having grenades lobbed at them. That situation needs to be resolved in another manner. AND, if you're out in public and some random guy throws a beer on you, you have the choice to fuck him up or let it slide. If you fuck him up, expect consequences. And, for that matter, since when does being on the streets make it okay to throw down with someone?

that's such a backwards ass way of looking at it. of course you wouldn't let it slide. if you did, hats off to you, Ghandi. But that still doesn't make you running up and kicking the shit out of the person who threw it any more okay. I don't give a shit how you look at it. That's just not how it works. If some random guy chucked a beer at Artest outside of the arena whilst he was walking down the street or something and ol' Ron charged him and punched him in the face he'd be facing CRIMINAL charges, not this league punishment happy horseshit. Oh boy, he's suspended from basketball. He can still go make his R&B albums and smoke his weed and participate in acts of random asshole-ishness. I can't understand how anyone can side with the players. And I can't understand how anyone can side with the fans! Both parties are equally fucking ignorant, childish, and just plain fucking stupid. I think the fans that were involved ought to be fucking kicked in the nuts so hard it jarrs their fucking molars loose, and I think the players ought to recieve similar punishment. Plus, criminal charges all around. This suspension shit is ridiculous, and they're trying to APPEAL it!!! Fucking overpaid assholes ought to be ashamed of themselves for being so audacious. I havn't heard anything about criminal charges but from what I have heard they aren't facing any. They ought to be but they're not. They're getting off easy. Fans and players. Then they have the audacity to bitch about a suspension. Get the fuck outa here. Unbelievable. Sure, they're playing a fucking kid's game but they're getting paid big people money, they should fucking act like it. Same goes for the fans. You're old enough to buy beer? Great, then you're old enough to sit down and enjoy the game without being a prick just like the rest of the adults in attendance you fucking ape. When the hell are people going to grow up. And for anyone who "feels the pain" of the players: Wake the fuck up.
