I didn't say I thought anything about our armed forces. What I actually think about our armed forces is that I'm proud of the men and woman that serve our country - its a job I sure as hell couldn't do, so all the power to them.

What I did say was that you're making them look like a bunch of crazy people. Which is not passing judgement upon them... its merely observational.

See... you're trying to make them look good. But then you say something like You think the people in the military are all in a normal state of mind? whilst taking what I was saying entirely out of context and tossing in something about Iraq.

Never once did I mention Iraq. I was just observing that saying something like "Lets see how my chain of command does when they order me to hunt you both down for talking shit about my leaders bitches...", whether in jest or not, isn't exactly a wise thing to do because it can reflect negatively on the military.

Saying they aren't in the right state of mind because they've been having mortar shells lobbed at them, versus saying they look big crazies because they make threats (even in jest) to kill critics of the elected leadership of a government for and by the people are too very different things.
