Was it an iBook?

If it was an iBook, I do feel sorry for you.

Also, you should experience the glory of the mighty mouse.

Have you even taken a look at the Vista's minimum system requirements? Especially the Vista Premium edition's system requirements make me shudder... That's just for the operating system, ffs!!!

I marvel at the Windows 2000 Pro how it can handle the software made for WinXP with a fraction of it's system requirements, let alone Vista... meaning all your power goes to handle the software running on the operating system, not to handle the operating system working beneath any software you're dealing with most of the times...

Alas, setting the record straight: DOS was one of the best operating systems out there, and it wasn't even made by MS originally (Sierra...). After that... well, I wonder how they can always screw up a half-decent operating system... Example: Windows 98 Second Edition was good and Millenium I think holds the title of worst OS Microsoft ever made... And many people kept buying Windows 2000 Pro even after Windows XP came out, so... oh well... Maybe I should get myself a Mac laptop!

It's not really that excessive. For a new generation operating system, I think those give a reasonable bottom line for PC vendors. Obviously it will take 1 GB of RAM to run things completely smooth, but unless you, for some reason, can't afford what is now a fairly cheap upgrade, there are probably more pressing problems than a new computer.

I'm probably gonna get Vista Home Premium or whatever it is when it comes out.

The requirements to be called a Premium Ready system aren't really as bad as you're making them out to be.

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but that's why they call it beta isn't it?

Yes but, and I don't really have any evidence, IIRC there were some pretty important features missing from Beta 2, as in ones that were supposed to be main features.

Wow captaion obvious. Try the vista beta...everything they were talking about.. essentially nonexistant still.

Its xp with a theme, still, and annoying security pop ups. every 2 seconds.

Its damn pretty though.

Unlike Fable, they have time, and they don't have Peter Molyneux.
