Yeah the view counter is pretty weird... ATM it says 2828 views, when watching another video and the video is under related video's, it says 19412. And when i click on the little statistics icon under the video. The line is at 40k(!)

I dont think its really being promoted at all. Could be 1000% better. Twitter is the biggest way they are getting news out.

What I would want to see is a legit 2 min epic trailer of all gameplay. Then see what people think.

for example..did you see when the caspian border BF3 Trailer came out...crap thats what everyone was talking about. lol

That goes for anything else right now. Battlefield 3 is what everyone knows so it gets attention and every award/accolade that is available. PlanetSide 2 could do the same thing and I guarantee it wouldn't get the ball licking that DICE gets if they so much as fart out a tenth of a screenshot.

If the media doesn't blow it out of proportion nobody will hear about it.

Yup, but if we get an awesome 2 minutes gameplay trailer and that the media doesn't "blow it out of proportion", then it's where we (the community) are supposed to get in action and "spam" it pretty much everywhere it counts.

If the media doesn't, we should.

Anyway, let's wait & see for what the marketing team has for us.

They just need to focus on making a fun game. Even though they're two completely different genres, I will make comparisons to League of Legends. When LoL was released it was only known to mainly the DOTA crowd. But that game has grown. It's accessible, free to play and really easy for you to go to your friends and be like, "Hey come try out this game with me. You'll have fun I promise!" I've seen LoL go from only 5 people playing it in my community to exploding in popularity where you see at least 4-6 teams in vent playing together regularly. It's currently one of the most popular games out there.

Ultimately Planetside 2's greatest marketing will be from the player base. If the game is fun then people will get their friends in on it. Free to play right? I got tons of friends who play Battlefield all the time. All I gotta do is go to them and be like, "Hey come join me in on this" and chances are they'll try it out.

I think this game will catch on. Not a lot of people even knew about the original Planetside when it was around (I know I was oblivious!) and I'm sure once people even hear about the basic concept of this game that's enough to get them interested.

The video has 42.200 views right now looking at my personal statastics of the video. (dunno why it still hasn't updated on the video page) It is great to see what a simple gameplay video can do and I almost only see positive reactions to it. It is great that many sites are picking the video up and i also see PS2 in alot of ''Most anticipated games of 2012'' lists on gaming websites. I can't wait when SOE releases HD footage! I think that this game will be pretty succesfull
