sundy has equip term now. if your squad wants to mine an area you can bring a sundy along and lay mines, reclass, and lay more mines, rinse, repeat.

Well the AMS wasn't exactly tiny. And are you suggesting we should have an air and ground varient for every vehicle? Because flying is fun too.

All depends on what niches are left really.

Aside from being top heavy the AMS was pretty small.

I don't know why someone who enjoys flying would bother using a Galaxy as a spawn point since that part is over when you land and deploy.

And what's with AA vehicles? You might as well pull a MAX they pretty much serve the same purpose right?

yep.

but of course on the topic of MAXes, WDKHIWIB (we don't know how it works in beta)

i'm imagining groups of sundies carrying AV/AA maxes as a kind of siege strike force.

Small compared to what? A tower? It was still easily one of the biggest ground vehicles in the game.

Whilst they both serve the role of AA, they still work rather differently, or at least they did in PS.

MAXes were far more static, lending themselves to being mostly defensive, or for holding a position. They also usually required support and/or cover to be useful, with the possible exception of being above the flight ceiling, a VS MAX, or both.

The SG was far more self sufficient and more importantly mobile, meaning not only could it be used defensively but it could be used much more effectively on the offense too. This was in part helped by the fact that, unlike their MAX brethren, they weren't so easy for air to prey on.

And I know it's been said the Lightning will be the replacement for the SG, but I am very much skeptical. That however, is a different topic.
