Doubt that they will reserve names. How many servers are left for ps1? What if there was a "Bob" on both server a and server b for ps1. On ps2, both players are on the same server, who gets to keep "Bob"?

It would be nice to see the PS1 vets distinguished from new players who have never played before. Always more fun to kill a vet then a FNG. A small round circular patch with PS1 in the middle is enough. Give it an orange background so it will stand out an be non empire specfic.

If it was not for the vets who kept playing PS1 through the lean times or when hackers were rampant - they may not have been a PS2 now. I'm sure the Active Players who spent 180 dollars every year had some signifigent role in deciding that the Planetside game would continue to be profitable for SOE. After all SOE wants to make Profit. You have to see an interest in a game, and a continued flow of income, before spending the ammount of money it takes SOE to produce a game like PS2.

Does SOE owe us anything, no probally not, I for one have been very entertained with the game. Its why I subed all these years.

But it would be a very nice gesture on their part to recognize in some non game breaking way the veterens who paid their dues to the game.

There are a lot of games that come and go. People stop playing. Communities for those games disolve, and they die completely. Planetsdie 1 never really died. You could always log in even after being idle for years and find a fight like no other in any other game.

Its the Vets who continued to play the game, even though most of you quit for pathetic games like ___________ (insert pathetic game here that you no longer play) and never came back to ps2, that there is going to be a PS2.

So you lame Dick, and Harry, Sally and Sue who stoped playing, and say, Gee PS1 was such a fun game when I used to sub it, it was so cool, it was awsome, but I had to play a pathetic game to stay you know, up to date and cool to have new fun. You should thank the Vets too.......

I want a magrider that transforms, using the Sunderer as legs and feet, Scythe as pincher arms and Lightnings as shoulders

I wouldn't mind having higher polygon classic skins with a beret, sunglasses and earpiece.

1. Name Reservation

2. Beret

TBH, I don't think we need anything, but if they insist, these would be perfect imho.

Definitly classic skins. Most of all the Medium Infantry and Rexo armor, Classic Lighting Tank, and Classic Magrider.

Think classic magrider would look beast with todays graphics

It's not about being better

It's about keeping a small memento of a game that we previously played (some of us for a very long time, I've had my character for 2/5ths of my life) and taking it into the new game with us.

Be it the right to keep our old name/outfit name or a skin resembling the armor of old Auraxis or something along those lines.

Personally I wanted to keep all the old merits I had accumulated (with the assumption that they would all be given a prefix of "Veteran" or "Vintage" like how TF2 did it. I doubt that will happen but it would be cool to have a beret & glasses option or the ability to keep my backpack (especially since Command Ranks won't exist anymore).

Being able to keep my beret would be awesome. I doubt helmets are much help when the bad guys are shooting lazers anyway!

Perhaps the terms of service hash marks you find on the fore-arms of a modern day Marine's dress uniform.
That would be pretty cool. Make it a badge that describes the old PlanetSide as some distinguished campaign; maybe it should say veteran of [one of the removed continents] campaign on an armbadge, with a little stitched picture of the planet and the original logo.

I personally think different models for the weapons or vehicles would be too much work but maybe some retired decals from PlanetSide could be left for veterans to use?

Ooooh yeah... I'm not a fan of the new Mag so I would love the old one to make a comeback.

For PS2 to be good.

Retro armour or shoulderplate for each class.

I'd love access to an old PS1 weapon skin like the original pulsar that has been seen in screenshots.

But more realistically just something small cosmetic that shows I was there.

On a serious note, a name reservation is the perfect thing to do for vets.

A medal that stands out and a different icon showing above your head. The icon that shows above players in ps2.
