Anyone else think the turrets are too exposed?

I felt they were pretty useless in PS1 after roughly the first 10 seconds of any base defence due to being too exposed.

could do with gun emplacements in the walls?

Unlike PS1 iteration, they look pretty powerful. It's a trade-off.

ya. just went back and counted. 6 shots to kill a vanny, assuming it started on full health and hadn't been mauled by a cactus, seems fair enough.

How does that compare to an upgraded PS1 turret?

This made me laugh:

How can the British spelling be incorrect (provided it is a British word to begin with :P) when the english language originated in Britain? Every subsequent spelling of the word would by default be incorrect spelling... logically. Obvisouly over time countries that adopted the language might have their own spelling, but it doesn't make the British way of spelling it wrong ^^

I was interested to learn a year or 2 back that some of the "odd" American spellings are archaic English usages. So "color" was how some British people used to spell it, and so on. Not surprising really, since educational standards were pretty variable way back when. Still, "turrent" has no place in either language afaik.

Maybe it's because of the similarities to "current"...

Didn't notice there was so much confusion about "turret" until now... there is just one about its pronounciation ("a" vs "u") at least among Germans.

That's be due to accents and dialects, though. That is forgivable

It's not. It's just a derpy and surprisingly common way to misspell turret.

I've been waiting for some turret action, thanks OP.

... or torrent... and everybody has heard of and uses those.

These turrets are good however not as sturdy as I though they'll be... he got only 1 direct hit from that Vanguard and his HP went deep into red. Second shot would've killed the turret for sure.

p.s. I don't know how people manage to misspell since these forums use auto-check for grammar..

The thing i noticed is that the tank lasts pretty long. it takes 6 full hits, which is a good amount i think. I thought the tanks in ps2 were much frailer than that so i was pleasently surprised

Good meaty turrets, that's what I like to see!

I haven't seen any ANT recharging or base powering yet... Anybody know if it's still something we're going to be able to do?

EDIT:

Damn. After clicking the link generated by my own mention of ANT, I see that they aren't going to be present in Planetside 2. What the hell?!
