I was amazed that the original "E3 trailer!" thread was filled with fawning and praise. I would love for this game to do amazingly well, and that trailer is not going to help. Good trailers (especially if you're already excited about the game) should make your hair stand up - that one is just a cringer.

I agree. The really upsetting thing is that the shots of the NC army were incredibly well done (even as ugly as the NC are), and if the whole trailer was up to that standard, without that horrific VO it would have been truly mind-blowing.

As it is I probably wouldn't show it to anyone I wanted to convince to play PlanetSide, and that really isn't what you want for a trailer.

Lately i feel like the good games get crapy trailers,and the bad games have awsome trailers

Just look at bf3 and ps2 for example.
Bf3 have lots of flashy trailer to hype up the kids.
But once you buy it you see how much they messed up.

PS2 doesnt have super epic trailer(the current trailers are not bad,but they are just meh...).
But the gameplay is probably going to be awsome.

I agree with their view on the VO. It's how I felt when I first saw it. I liked the visuals and the music. I didn't like the voice overs.

Planetside 2 trailers was one of the worst trailers in current time.

That trailer might of cut it back in 2003 when Planetside 1 came out but that was horrible...but it did give an old school vibe which I kind of like since it felt so outdated.

Group of soldiers, just standing shooting at each other like 5 ft away or all grouped, shooting lol.

I clicked 10secs before PS2 chat and heard them talking about how shit Prometheus was and how angry they were, and immediately loved them.

Also like their view on the trailers because they are poor - the voice over is hammy, but more importantly there's a lack of action in a lot of the shots - VS and TR standing still firing and every FPS gamer knows that doesn't happen. Best to show them moving and fighting rather than the MMORPG style of stand still pressing a button.
