I hate to say it, but I'm going to be the one crazy person and agree with Stew.
The NC music, at least most of it, is pretty bad. I actually cringed when the guitars first kicked in. And then I cringed some more. Look, I know it's synth guitar, but I'm pretty sure my reaction was to the use of guitars, not how they sounded. I highly doubt I'll suddenly think it's awesome because the sound quality improves. I'll admit I'm wrong if that happens, though. The problem is that it sounds like every heavy-metal guitar-oriented piece of music written by a composer. Something about classical composers makes them unable to grasp rock and roll. Don Ferrone is awesome, but that guitar arrangement is horrible. However, I do like the travel music. Sounds like the Firefly soundtrack. It's just those cheesy crunching guitars in the battle music that sound so "wannabe hard rock". |

Madness! Listen to that and picture: 0:00 Shot of a gloved hand holding a well-worn picture of a woman and child 0:20 Hand folds the picture back up, stuffs it into a satchel. Camera backs up to reveal an NC soldier sitting on the top of a tank 0:24 The soldier turns to his driver with a look of determination and gets a stern nod in return 0:29 They both settle into the tank and the camera backs up further to reveal an enormous tank column getting ready to move out... 0:40 The camera backs up further into the sky as Reavers and Galaxies painted in roughed up blue and gold streak by... I mean its too easy. PERFECT music for the NC, imho. Last edited by Wayside; 2012-06-15 at 08:59 PM. |

I completely disagree.
Look I hate country, I grew up in the freaking South; that is all I ever freaking heard was some old guy whining over a freakin banjo. But honestly, the NC music not only fits the theme of rebels here in the US (historically western / country / rock thematics are symbolic for rebellious actions), but it also sounds right for the look and design of the faction as a whole. I'm sorry you don't like it, you are more than entitled to your opinion, however there was no need for another thread on the subject and I think the mods should just lock this one.

I think it works great for the backward, duct tape everthing, mullet growing faction that is the NC. I can just picture this blaring from an Enforcer as they drive by shooting at stop signs and trying to peg someone with a beer bottle on their way to a redneck strip club to wind down after gettting stomped on by the VS and TR.

NC music is awesome. Reminds me of the terran's music from Starcraft. It fits the faction perfectly and I wish the travel ones were even a little heavier on the slide guitar.
Bottom line: Get over it or join another faction. |
