Not too sure at the moment. I like/dislike a few things about each faction.

TR - Too much of a controlling/government feel lore wise. Don't like that, however I like the fast bullets/guns.

NC - Come off as hippies backed by Walmart. I like having tons of armor, but not really a fan of slow shooting weapons regardless of they hit harder. They do remind me of Super Troopers though (even though in the movie they wore purple into battle).

VS - I like the science approach. I just feel the leader might just be that weird ass guy from Ancient Aliens. I feel weapon wise they are right in the "middle". I'm not sure how I feel about dmg degration over distance, then again I'll likely be LA or something a little bit more up close. Not a big vehicle person anyway so that isn't going to sway me much.

Only other reason I may lean towards VS is I liked that Outfit Spotlight on Delta Triad. Even if I couldn't join it would probably still be a blast playing with them because they don't come off as a zerg rush, and I like to be somewhat challenged when playing online.

Never played PS1. This went on too long.

I have to say I am 90% sure I want to be Vanu. Why have a gun when you can have a Laser? I also like their "balanced" weapon style as far as speed and damage goes. Also I hear their guns have the least recoil and highest accuracy, and that fits my playstyle more than speed or damage, I'd rather lay down a stream of bullets straight into your head.

I only played TR in PS but I might switch to NC this time. Just can't beat a Vanguard supported by soldiers with shoulder mounted guided rocket Phoenix (btw are they still in)?
