This dude is smart, he sees a good RTS series when he sees one.
C&C is 40 times better than any RTS I have ever played in my life.
I've played every RTS imaginable and I have never met anything better. The first Command & Conquer still holds the current record of selling the most games in the whole world, even more than starcraft. Check the new guiness world book of records!! I saw it there. To me, Starcraft is a grandma's game where you wait very long just to build one stupid ass unit. It takes a lllooonnnng ass time to build shit in Starcraft and the units feel kinda cheap. Don't even let me get started with warcraft. Westwood will always be the best RTS maker ever. Dune series was spectactular for a one time epic singleplayer and a still playable multiplayer series. To me Red Alert 2 will always be my favorite, I mean, WHATS NOT TO LIKE!!! The multiplayer is ingenious and it just kicks ass period!!!! That takes reall skill than just building 5 battle shit Cruisers and duking it out with yamato guns.

Command and Conquer baby!!!

It was Total Annihilation that made me change my computer at the moment.

I liked a lot Dune 2, but the impossibility to select several units at once was a big default.

Stracraft is good, but to win you need more speed than real thinking.

I had a lot of fun with Homeworld, Cataclysm and Ground control, and I'll buy Homeworld 2 and Ground Control 2 without hesitations, but my favorite is still Total Annihilation.

yes, total annihilation was great, very good sleeper hit

but my all favorite has to be Warcraft 3.
i love cinematic, story driven games, and that's what the Warcraft 3 is.
i loved the characters in it. the world that blizzard created for the warcraft universe was already amazing, but with warcraft 3 they truly brought it to life in 3d and wonderful colors. i loved the atmosphere of the game (who can deny the coolness of the Night Elves? who can't feel sorry for the Orcs? who can't hate the Undead? who can't identify with the humans?)
the game also had a wonderful strategy element in it, making you really care for your troops because you have less of them. you don't really make just hordes of troops and through them at your enemy and win by brute force. you have to use real strategy, scout to know what your enemy is making and then decide the best combination of units and skills to counter and retaliate.

truly one of my favorite games of all time

StarCraft. No question.

The game isn't just about building a shitload of guys, then sending them off. When you get a group of people who know the many facets of the game, it's not just a race to see who can reach their supply limit first.

There are so many elements to that game and the rock-paper-scissors style balancing is perfect.

I've been lazy in going to get WarCraft 3. I wanna, but like I said, I'm lazy. And now that C&C: Generals is out, I'm torn between the two. Though I think I might check out some of the other titles in this list.

Starcraft, plain and simple. Nothing beats the sound of grunts gunning down wave after wave of zerglings. Know they need to make a MMO game about Starcraft and that would really have my money!

Statistically; Starcraft. Though, I personally cannot decide. Lately, I've been playing Warcraft 3... So I'd have to say that at the moment, it's my favorite. Overall, I don't know.

Naw. I just think that you really did a good job speaking Warcraft 3's strong points. It's really an excellent game (again, expansion makes it FAR better) but there's so much more to it than just the game. It's good to know that (some) people actually recognize this.
