I just spent 3 hours defending zurvan with 5 other outfit mates. Hopefully they'll implement all these new capture mechanics on all the bases. THEN it will truely feel like a planetside sequel.

From all that I have encountered, it's mostly luck, with some maneuvering. This is because the world is so open, there is little maneuvering that can be done. No walls mean less cover, which means you get shot from nearly 360 degrees.

Ref: my outfit is not a leet-bunnyhopper outfit. We are big on strategy, tactics, and planning.

Are we on the same map? If you think there's no cover I have no idea what world you are living in. Are there places that don't have much cover? Yes. But by and large there is plenty of cover.

Do you guys know what bitching is? or do you just get butthurt whenever someone has something negative to say about the game? I might not agree with the things he's saying, but he gave reasons for his complaints. That's considered constructive, even if you don't agree with the content.

Of course this is beta, I'm sure he knows that, that's why people are going to bring up issues now so we don't need to when it's released.

Assuming he's an angry vet with a single response in reply is exactly that, a blind assumption.

Two counter arguments that have little merit unless you base them on further support are "It's In Beta!!" and "Angry Vet!!" We all know it's beta and most of us have played this game at some point, hence we're all vets to a degree... that's an easy knock since many/most of us are susceptible.

We shouldn't be the community that doesn't want to hear any oppositions, just because we only have an ear for our own sweet choir.

I must agree on these points
( -subjective- )
- guns are to big - they need to be reduced a bit
- battles are to quick - longer capture time / and longer encryption time / more indoor corridors
- Its to easy to go as ONE inf on flash and spam capture bases -there needs to be a greater capture time for single person
- better sort of indication that base is being captured so people can respond better

You know, the OP was at least better than these "It's BETA" or "Stop trolling it's just fine" crowd and I even agree with him in some points, but, are giving reasons and impressions largely based on personal criterion(and in some part not that accurate) enough to be titled as 'considerate, constructive' criticism?

No I understand that, I never said the word "considerate" I said considered. He should be called on any inaccuracies with specific points, but one sentence responses do nothing when people want to shield themselves from any sort of negativity.

because there will come a day when THAT person has something to critique, but they've built up a community where no one wants to hear anything bad so they'll be afraid to say it since it'll be automatically disregarded.

In fact I will agree with some of people on here,the aircraft dont feel like they weigh anything. Gravity is a harsh mistress and I think the flight model should take that more into account.

I have been enjoying my time on PS2, sure there are bugs but they seem to be heading in the right direction.

I agree with not-liking the game.
The biggest problem is the maps are not made for PlanetSide or rather, the flow of combat on these maps is just terrible.

The problem I have with "it's beta comments" is that's the time where you should bring up negative feedback, not silence it.

I have been a part of every MMO beta since I can remember, at least all the major MMOs any ways. Most of them have failed before they even hit beta because the fundamental mechanics are put in way before beta. The problem with a game where these core mechanics are just bad is very rarely are they fixed and certainly never in an SOE game.

I'm a burnt Vet of SOE games yeah, I admit that.

- EQ - Luclin and PoP ruined the game
- PS - BFRs and lack of any content ruined the game
- SWG - Buggy launch, Jedi, JTLS, CU and the NGE ruined the game
- EQ2 - Dumbed down so hard from a forced grouped hard game to some weird wannabe WoW clone

I don't like SOE, I don't like how they've managed their games and I don't think they'll ever learn. However because it was Planetside 2 I gave them a chance and sadly while I respect them for trying to deliver something ambitious, for now they've failed for me and my friends at least.

I've given my feedback and if they want to listen then great, if not then I just wont play.... simple, I'm not going to get involved with throwing insults around on the forums.

The flying mechanics has to be one of the most awesome ever in a game?!

I love it it is hard as hell to be REALLY good at it and it really feels like physics are involved when you are flying.

I simply love it. It is not hard to fly but it is REALLY hard to master it. Dog fights really feels like they are skill based. I have been owned several times because of the simple reason that the other guy is a better pilot.

Personally, I've be seriously loving the game. It is SO awesome. Now, obviously, I'm not a super in-depth guy like the rest of all you, nor am I a vet, unfortunately. But, frankly, I really don't have many problems. Besides, it's beta, most of what we are seeing will be fixed/improved through feedback.

I've been playing for a few days, and only have a couple of complaints:

- Gunplay seems off. Just a little too wobbly or something. Maybe it's just me, I don;t know.
- Flying is NOT an issue. It's difficult. I'm bad at it. So what? I'll get better.
- Battles ARE over fast, but that will change most likely when more people are playing it.
- On the subject of gunplay, again, sniping is outrageously difficult

For me any way. Still, not a problem. Practice makes perfect etc.
- All in all, I'm having a blast playing. I'm not all that good at it, but as I said before, I'll get better. A lot of my "complaints" are only because I'm not a complete PWNAGE MASTAHR.
