They should just pick a theme for the names, like naming the servers after various outposts with certain regions sharing the names of outposts from the same continent.

At the very least they should sound more manlier.

I'm not an MMO guy, mainly FPS and S/JRPG in my history, so I was wondering if somebody could explain something to me. Why are characters locked to one server? Shouldn't you be able to join whatever server and have the same one? It kinda sucks because you can only ever play with people from the same region, who also happened to pick the same server in that region, unless you want to unlock everything all over again (which you paid money for...). It seems bizarre to me.

Its great for faction loyalty, and enemy outfits rivalry. You end up knowing them, fear them. You take some territories or even continents as your own.
Sure server hopping is great for population ballancing, and server load as you dont have empty servers. But you dont have any connection to land you conquering and you lose big part of incentive to fight for it.

I was mostly just wondering if there was a technical reason like database dickery or something. I guess it's just something that I'll have to deal with; use default weapons so I can have multiple characters or something like that.

Ok so... back on topic...

Here are my factors for choosing server:

Factor 1: Wherever the veteran New Conglomerate Alliance outfits go ALL TOGETHER - Sturmgrenadier, Blue Lions, 666th Devil Dogs, The Renegades, Supertroopers, etc.

and then the lessor factors:

Factor 2: East Coast

Factor 3: Veteran enemy outfits

Factor 4: Where ever the Enclave is NOT

The Renegades are waiting in the wings to see what the NCA decision will be. I read Sturmgrenadier is going East Coast, and Blue Lions said they would switch back to East Coast. My outfit leader - Fishfisinick wants East Coast.

And we've got Aleksey back, so roll with us and you will be told to, "Get off Cyssor!" in multicolors of course!

Pfft, I've tried out all the high pop servers, and Yak's Bend still has the best community.

Good: Starting with fewer servers and incase it's needed adding more.

Considering this game is going to be available on Steam, which has 4.9 million peak users, a good portion of which are probably using steam for at least 1 fps game...

You'd hope they have more servers ready to go.

The names of the servers are from the lore.

Lol, there's lore? Sounds more like wizards and crap.

Forget the lore and name them:

Big dog
Thunder
Vindicator

And the likes.

Names that the average audience, with whom they're trying to attract, will recognize and not be confused. Come on, think outside the geek box for a change.

Yeah its nice they would try to tie in the lore but I was really looking forward to original server names. But even with a fresh perspective these names are kind of awkward. Miller? Mattherson? Not a fan of the style
