SOE's business plan calls for introducing overpowered weapons and selling as many of them to PS2 gamers as possible. Once sales start to drop off, SOE puts the overpowered weapons on sale. Once those sales start to drop off, SOE nerfs the weapon and balances it with other existing weapons. SOE then repeats the process over and over again with new weapons. So that's when you can expect SOE to nerf the new pistols. In a sense, SOE is farming the PS2 gamers, most who are completely unaware of it. |

Rocketpods have been the same price since they were released. They are still overpowered, and need more of a nerf to be balanced. The only nerf they received was splash damage on infantry, which ALL high explosive type rounds received across the board.
A2A missiles have never been nerfed. They're bugged currently, in that they don't always hit the target, but it's another poor example. The Phoenix had a nerf? What was it? Last edited by Assist; 2013-04-22 at 01:22 PM. |

Rocketpods were nerfed nothing replaced their effectiveness... they are still considered too effective by most. A2A don't really have a issue outside of the lock-on mechanics which are kinda terrible across the board. Pheonix was nerfed into the ground against infantry and I haven't been killed by one as infantry since the nerf. However, I see them a lot less since the nerf because that is really all NC used them for. They are still effective against their primary target... armor/vehicles. Whining for the sake of whining isn't going to get you anywhere here. You should of used the argument of the pump shotguns being nerfed. Which everyone knew was coming, even before they were released there were threads about them needing to be nerfed. A lot of people still think they need nerfed. But you didn't use that argument, because your goal here is to whine and not actually contribute anything relevant to your own argument. You could of used the Phoenix vs. Infantry argument as well, but you didn't know what the nerf was most likely. You just figured you could throw a hissyfit here and people would take your word on it for some reason. Once again though, the developers stated before the ESRL's were released that they do not intend for them to 1-shot infantry. The Phoenix did, and it was nerfed. The only other change to the Phoenix was making it so the missile, that was supposed to be able to be shot down, was actually visible outside 100m range. As far as releasing weapons that have been nerfed after they were released.. I'd love for someone to make a list of weapons that were nerfed and released after launch, then make a list of weapons that were buffed. But I know none of you SoE-whiners will make that post because it will kill your argument that SoE sells items only to nerf them into the ground afterwards. |

Who's whining, kid? Sounds like you're upset about learning the truth about SOE.
I'm all in favor of SOE making money off the backs of those who are too ignorant to realize that they're being farmed by a company. Then again, I support the 1% and their efforts in making lots of money. No, kid, I have neither the time nor desire to debate points of minutiae with you over what's been nerfed and why. But I'm sure there are other kids who will gladly debate over these pointless points in a game with you.

I already told here that I never used nano weaver with infiltrator, but since they released that pistol it is mandatory to use it, because a 2 hit kill with that pistol or just one to the head is really bad when you just meet an enemy infiltrator on the same hill you are and both draw pistols. But I think it is personal, just because yesterday I hit you with a headshot from my prowler and you started whining on the yell chat that TR sucks and VS are underpopulated. PS: Under population on events on weekend where all sides get 33% each is not a good point to complain when you die.

Ive seen some pretty good statistical evidence on why certain items were nerfd. Every item that has been nerfed imo has had a solid reason behind it. As a matter of fact one of the reasons we now have a test server is to iron out the gameplay implications of new weapons so we dont have to go through as many rounds of nerfing.

The new pistols will likely be the faction specific ones. The new NS ones will likely go through a balance pass... which doesn't neccesarily mean they will be nerfed since I believe the NS-11m was actually buffed last pass. I could be wrong.. but that is what I remember hearing. Then the new ones will come out and if the specific ability is cool enough people will likely buy it. I seriously doubt everyone bought the new pump shotguns. I personally haven't been killed by many of them at all. For a lot of people the newest pump shotguns don't really benefit you over the first set of pump shotguns even though everyone flipped out about the shotgun rebalance and announcement of new pump shotguns on here. |
