Maybe that word just isn't in this area, we have plenty of other phrases, but "hit it" is just not one I hear.

"I'd hit it." even transcences language barriers. Even way up here in Quebec me and my buddies often walk around the campus and check the ladies out, everyone once in a while you'll hear one of us say "J'ma tapperais ben!" which pretty much means "I'd hit her".
