And how is 3 balanced? You ever heard of a 2 on 1? No matter how many empires, there will always be many imbalances. Yes, 3 is probably the most balanced other than 2 (or 1 ) but I highly doubt any empires will team up against another. Also, if this does happen, I can see many skilled players who like a fight switch to the empire that's getting beat.
