Having worked on software before... Soon means: "I think we will be done in two weeks" ...which actually means: "It will be done in a month or two".

This is the sad reality of software development :/

2-5 weeks from now is probably the most legit out of all the speculation.

We can't blame the developers or the designers for our beta jitters. We can blame marketing. If they weren't trying to build hype and excitement, they could let the trustworthy outfits in for late Alpha testing, then surprise us with beta the same day that it actually starts rather than telling us that it will be available "soon" and making us bite our nails for weeks or months.

Curse you marketing and hype!!! Curse you!!!! Sometimes we want to be kept in the dark even though we don't realize it.

But they've been saying "soon" for quite a while now. I think it is getting a bit silly. Set a date already. Even if they don't hit it, at least we won't spend every waking minute before that date wondering.

That would be nice. If you've been keeping up with DayZ at all, the developer of the mod makes changes regularly. He does a great job communicating with the community. He very often says that the next patch will be available in a few hours, and then comes back to say that he is missing that date.

I'd much rather have a PS2 beta date, then be disappointed when it gets pushed back. Of course, others might rage if that happened.

I can see people scheduling their days off around these announcements, so it may be wiser just to keep silent till they're 100% positive.

That would be unwise in any situation as no one knows how many are getting in to the beta on day one.

Im just tired of speculating. They have now moved the soon to very soon according to a post. "PlanetSide 2: Unfortunately we cannot provide a date to when beta will begin beyond the timeframes already provided. I can assure you it's very soon. [RadarX]"

I'm seeing....I'm seeing a weekend. It starts......Friday the 29th and closes...Planetside Day, July 1st, with further testing to come shortly thereafter.
