After many hours of forcing his brain to think in new ways, Starrider finally found himself visible and able to control his movement. "Alright now time to get out of here," Starrider murmured as his brain pondered about how, "Ok, next skill: teleportation." With that, Starrider took a deep breath and focused in his mind the base where he had...died. He saw it clearly in his mind, he concentrated harder, and felt himself begin to enter an almost weightless sense of being. Suddenly it felt as though he was being shoved through a Reaver engine, his body seemed to stretched and then thwack back into place, except he was now at the base, standing exactly where he had died.
Starrider froze as he was engulfed in the stench of death. He looked and saw bodies everywhere, some hanging over the edge of the wall, others knocked back onto the ground, but all very apparently riddled with the effects of war. Some were missing limbs, other chunks of their body all together, and other just littered with shrapnel and lead. There was so much blood it stained almost every area of the ground, only the soldiers black armour standing out from the deep red that was everywhere. Starrider looked down in front of him and saw two pools of blood that had flowed from two bodies to form a single stream. One was his, the other was WildEagle's, but his body was not near its deathbed. Starrider followed the pool of blood with his eyes down the path and realized why WildEagle's body wasn't there; it was nearly blown to pieces. Starrider's stomach flopped and he wanted to look away but his eyes wouldn't let him. The body was horribly mangled, it lay on its back, headless, with one arm twisted beneath it, the other nowhere to be found, a large portion of the rightmost torso was gone, revealing the cavities for lungs and showing the innermost organs, the body was completely shredded, there was almost no remaining armour on the body. Finally Starrider's eyes allowed him to look elsewhere, he quickly turned around, leaned over and disgorged. After relaxing a few moments Starrider looked back at the body, expecting to feel remorse and sadness. He stood there for a few moments, but realized he didn't feel either. His brain would not recognize he should be sad, emotionally distraught, utterly in an emotion breakdown state. He stared into the distance, not feeling any emotion, then he thought of Destroyeron, and he did. Anger, rage, fury, utterly pure hatred filled his body. Starrider jumped down from the crosswalk into the middle of the base, blood staining the bottom of his boots. He began to walk; he grabbed a minichaingun from a dead soldier and loaded it. With a stern face he slung the minichaingun over his soldier and began to run to the nearest New Conglomerate base.

Hey Destroyeron remember me? Probably not. I just found a link back here and posted a new chapter to my old Vault story. Long overdue I saw this topic and remembered you. Since you're in my story is starrider still around? I was in contact with him for a while, but haven't spoken to him in a long time. I noticed him as a character in your story too. I'll have to get to reading yours. It looks like people really like it. 12k view? crazy. mine used to be the biggest when I left only 2k hehe well done
Good to see at least someone I know around here. |
