It's looks great; except the yellow superimposed over the blue at the bottom looks a little messed.

IMO they look fine. It also appears to be a close up screen shot of the instruments and looking out the front of the plane. Either that or you guys sit closer to your front dashboard there. Anyways, with the ability to mouse look around the cockpit it pretty much nullifies your entire argument. If you want to look out to the right or left of the mosquito then move your mouse and look that direction.

I was wondering if there are parachutes from looking at the pictures of the base on that ledge. I know that when you jump out of a galaxy there will be a mechanism to protect the player from fall damage, but what if you jump off that ledge?

If they keep it similar to Planetside 1 then No there is no parachute. You will take damage/die when you land if you decide to jump from that ledge.

I like the interior of the cockpit, but the font they've used for the gauges seems a little off somehow, like it's not digital enough. This picture really impresses the scale of the game. You've got a hike up a mountain before you can even consider taking that base.

Well yeah, that did cross my mind as I typed that last post out. Modern aircraft do have HUD elements that are projected onto the pilot's visor... What you're not considering though is that all aircraft with some form of fixed armament need to have a static cross hair. A cross hair that tracks the position of your head would only be viable if the cannon is capable of unrestricted movement. I believe this is how gunships function.

I digress massively, though

If this is indeed the intended design it needs to be made believable, and what I mean by that is that the targeting interface should remain in the middle of your screen as you mouselook around the cockpit. Who knows, maybe it already does.

Looking at the HUD elements makes me think that while the mossie picture shows the whole cockpit, the reaver picture might not do so. Unless the HUDs are also empire specifc, or the shots are from different build versions.

And i still want to be able to disable the cockpit in favour of HUD view.

+1 cutterjohn

The HUD is projected into your helmet. It doesn't go away just because you are now sitting in a cockpit.

Continuity and immersion... two of my best friends. Together, we party hard... do coke while dressed in sci-fi cosplay and gangbang hookers.

Was looking at the Crysis 2 HUD again recently... it's fucking tops.

I am loving these cockpit views! Looking forwards to seeing em in a combat setting =)

Also I do like how simple and straight forwards the NC's view is!

The coloring really adds to the feeling as well with each empires cockpit. The TR looks much more sleek and menacing, while the NC's view is very.... "cool" and freeing feeling. I imagine the VS will have an other-world type feel with control console that would be very alien in nature.
