I know one thing, right when things were starting to get better with PS and now that most of the bugs have been fixed.... the intrusion happens...

Poor PS... To be honest with you all. Its kinda nice getting on and seeing the same names and being able to remember folks because its almost like a exclusive croud. Not super cramped but still enough folks to have some good battles.

Cant wait till its back up.

SOE isn't going to give us much of anything as "compensation". We may get an extra month on our subscription, but that would be the most I'd expect. Planetside isn't even mentioned in the news as a game thats affected. It's always only "Everquest, DCUO, and FreeRealms".

Honestly, since Smed has been such an advocate of PS:N, I hope he doesn't lose his job over this.

I doubt it. He is busy with this, he may get flack, but likely it will be the server/security people who lose their jobs. He isn't responsible for their jobs, they are. He would be at fault if he had a chance to improve security but decided not to send the command out to do so.

I would think.

I'd so love it if Smed would come in and comfort us

If it is a proven hack by anom I hope no on loses their job. Nothing they could have done really or very little. Its like everything else your always wiser with hindsight.

I hope someone from SOE does comment on here but I doubt they will for legal reasons.

Sooo...is it just active subscriptions that are going to get a free month?? I got an email notifying me that my personal data had been stolen. I think they should give us unactive subs a month, as the same damage was done to us as active subs.

I sincerely doubt this is one of the "civil disobediance" hack groups. They can embarass Sony in many easier ways with less negative impact on bystanders.

This is far, far, far more likely to be some level of organized crime.

This is a good point. Man, that would be awesome if they gave everyone who had a subscribtion with them free play time. That would mean big pops on Pside

On the flip of that, if they do give all subs free time, get ready for the speed hackers again!
