I actually hope that the "military strategist" pipsqueak generals stay the fuck away from the Vanu. This game will get understood fast enough that there will be no time for any of those wankers to plot their crap out -- it's gonna be basketball, not football. No time outs, no 'your turn, my turn'. Tactics are going to be very important, but a good player will absorb them and a group of players should fall into them automatically.

Whoah, you switched from military strategy to board games and sports (with no transition) real quick there.

Not board games really . . . 'my turn, your turn' referred to football. This is a continuous game.

There is no place for 'military strategy' in the sense that most of these Napoleon wannabes are thinking of. This is going to be primarily squad tactics, and those will be extremely fluid and organic -- and it's more like coordinating actions between militias than within the army. People are not going to be at your beck and goddamned call -- you can't just tell an outfit what to do.

There will definitely be strategy at the top, but it won't be West Point. It will be Capitol Hill -- politicking, pressing the digital flesh and inter-Outfit relations will be more important than the 'military opinion' of some Civil War Reenacting war fanboi.

I agree, but people will listen to superior officers after a while once they figure out the commanders have access to better maps. Not saying they will run headlong into thirty MAXs on a wall, but they will probably go through a risky breach.

I disagree. I think that in most good attacks a plan of attack will defeinetly be thought up way before the attack. For example: Blitzkrieg(or however you spell it) could easily be planned ahead of time.

But as on the spot tactics go, i highly doubt that unless a sqaud spends way too much time on this game, they wont be like:

"Contact! Gamma sqaud formation Alpha up the left, Omega Squadron go around te back and hit them with a spearhead formation."

thats funny.

I have an idea. Wait until the game comes out (or you get into beta) and TRY THEM OUT. Then you can make an informed decision on what to do.

btw, the fact that an outfit is turning people down before the game is out is funny.

Cheif proves that in the TR military intelligence is an oxymoron. No offense to any other Terrans.

Steps to choosing a side:

1: All items can be obtained by any player in one way or another, excluding max weapons.via terminal or loot, many weapons will have common pool ammunition.

2: All vehicles can be obtained by any side by a qualified hacker.

3: decide via ideals, ease of obtaining a likely favorite weapon, and colorschemes. if you like TRs colorscheme, like their guns, and think their cause just, then choose them. If you prefer freedom, like 'big gunds!!1!', and think blue and gold rules, go NC. if you like purple jumpsuits, evolution by genetic manipulation, and think lasers are sexy, then go vanu.

im still not sure what empire im going to join, for me it depends on the best AI MAX. Vanu MAX looks the coolest, but i like the fact of dual minis. Anyway the maxs are like this..

TR (Dual Weapons, extremely fast firing, anchor aility, great for in base use and so-so outside
NC(ok inside, pretty good outside, triple barrel shotgun, 3 ifferent firing choies)
VS( very tall MAX, jump jets, good manuverablility, best MAX for outside)

6. Much more efficient equivelent of shotgun (Lasher).
7. We have Tobias, Dio, and Mr_luc. Plus me.
8. We're winning in the beta.
9. We attract the strategists.

We have Hamma. :P

Well, I pity whichever side has Warborn.

To put it bluntly, Warborn is an arrogant nitwit who needs to stop being a know-it-all pissant. Maybe its just my extreme hatred of elitist kicking in, but I can't seem to understand why you (Warborn and others) have to talk down to your fellow posters. This may seem oxymoronic coming from someone not the nicest of all people, but Dharkbayne is a friend of mine.

If Dharkbayne bothers you so much, let the admins deal with him and just don't read his posts! Words to live by.

Also, if Warborn is an example of the kind of military minds the TR are going to have as their brains, go ahead and leave the Vanu to me. I'll have fun out-thinking such great and experienced minds such as yourself Warborn .

I severely doubt any true "military minds" will bother biasing themselves to a particular group based on machine guns. Also, loyalty isn't something that is given to you by a game faction, its a part of someone's psyche (or at least their online persona).

Have a nice day gentlemen.
