I went to planetside 2, sign up for beta (already did that day 1 it was available) logged in with my SOE account and there was a new survey there now. Extremely basic, asks for your CPU, graphics card (can only select the series, like 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, which says very little), and RAM.

I was expecting somewhere along the lines as a estimate of beta date or that PS1 vets beta accounts were activated or I would have even like to see the NDA really.

i still got all 4 original cds. i'll have to start reinstalling ps1 for the time being. cool to get 30 free days to hold us over til beta. sounds like beta might still be a month or 2 off from this though. i'm dying to play but i'm also wanting the beta to be somewhat polished and looking good too. so i can't fault them for really taking the necessary time. i think we got a solid dev team and the finished product is going to rule from what i've seen so far. as badly as i want to crack the whips and be like gimme planetside rawr!! in the end that probably isn't very productive :P the game is looking incredible though. thanks again devs.

To clarify, PS1 is not going free. Players who had an active (paying) account are being granted 30 days free in support of this weekends PlanetSide Day.

That goes against everything we've been told to read in ultimate beta thread up above.
Seems like they were legit, albeit repetitive, questions of concern regarding the clarification of vets after all.
Although the answers are probably vague enough to allow for and escape clause.

In any case, I guess we are closer than we were yesterday.

Hey guys, I just downloaded the game and Im getting a runtime error.....

I got Windows 7 64 bit.

Have any of you guys gotten this error?

Nevermind I run as administrator and this fixed the problem.

I believe people expected "dates" -- this wasn't an announcement to people who follow Twitter or are just familiar with development cycles.

However, I am guessing from this announcement that August is the target for beta.... seems like it's far away since you're still in internal beta.
