So wait. Let me get this straight, because this is slightly ambiguous and I want to understand it completely. You're pissed off because you got pulled and cited for driving at a technically unsafe speed due to inclement weather... Are you pissed off at yourself or the cop? I would hope you're adult enough to accept responsibility for your actions and be pissed at yourself, and not pissed at the officer who caught you.

BTW, i was the one argueing FOR the gay people, not against. Maybe i didnt make it clear. But basically i forgot to add the most important line : Government does not = religion. So in order to keep homosexuality "illegal" better have a better reason than the bible

Not trying to turn this into the political debate area, just explaining what i meant.

Why are gay people such a problem? Do they frighten you? Do they make you queasy? The only encounter I had with a gay person was at summer camp... he was a counselor... we made fun of him.

i have met gays that are fine, as in nice people. but its annoying to hear about all of these gays complaining about things, and the whole church thing. leaves me thinking...wtf is wrong with these people...dont you have anything better to do with your life. if they did all of that stuff in private and no one ever knew about it, and not doing things that are evil like molesting boys that go to church, then we wouldnt have all these problems with gays. it seems as if they want all this conflict.

Conversely, maybe gay people are sitting there thinking the same thing about you. Imagine... a gay man says "It's annoying to hear about all of these straight people complaining about things. It leaves me thinking, wtf is wrong with these straight people? Don't you have anything better to do with your life?"

and not doing things that are evil like molesting boys that go to church, then we wouldnt have all these problems with gays. it seems as if they want all this conflict.
You're skewing facts. Not only that but you're mixing storyline plots. The people who molest boys who go to church are primarily Catholic priests. Not all gay people molest boys that go to church. Not all Catholic priests molest boys and not all Catholic priests are gay. According to the way you put it, all gay men molest boys who go to church.

I only see conflict where people choose to make it. By and large the problem actually appears to lie in "straight" people. If I were gay, I sure as hell wouldn't want to be making a big stink about it because my personal preferences and beliefs are really none of your business. But I can guaran-damn-tee you that other people would probably take offense about it. Conflict.

I am not an overly religious man, but I have studied religion in school and I have also been exposed to Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. I take issue with the whole "The Bible says it's evil" thing. Sure the Bible says it's a sin. The Bible also has a LOT of outdated scripture in there. Like killing your neighbor because he plows his field on the Sabbath. So, since the Bible says [paraphrased] Being Gay Is A Sin, should I also go out and kill my neighbor because he plowed his field, or mixed barley with wheat? I can tell you that the law would have something to say about that.

So then... what do I ignore? And what do I not ignore? Should I ignore killing my neighbor even though he technically sinned, but yet continue to kill (for this purpose and example we'll say hate) gay people as a righteous man because they too sin?

The "new patriotism" aka, unquestionable trust in Bush and Also the way the adminastration has played up the Lynch thing, the way i see it being captured and tortured isn't heroic its just unfortunate, but hey its war. The real heros of that story were the doctor and the American Soldier that saved alot of the people in the convoy from being captured in the firstplace.

Oh yeah, anti-bortion people, do we realy need more homeless kids and kids being born into famitlies that screw the kid up and then that kid has more kids that are messed up and it all escalades? People should have to get a license to have a kid, they would have to be sane, stable, non-addicted(alcohol, narcotics, not things like smoking unless the kid has resparatory problems), and have a steady job that can suport a family.

THeres this book i had to read for english. Called The Gospel According To Larry, about this senior who becomes a philosopher. Not that great a read but it portrays how consumerism is bad, but necessary at the same time. Go ahead and pick it up if u want some ideas of the philosophy of how the world has to work.
