Whatever happened to this "Ignore" feature Tek was talking about the other day? Don't tell me that we're taking people off our lists just for this again.

Anyway, my contributions. I do not believe that the media is as liberal as we make it out to be. While young reporters and journalists generally lean left, the news anchors ane editors (those who typically have more say in what get's published) generally lean right. And if I recall correctly, a study has concluded that while the media runs slightly more negative articles about conservatives than they do about liberals, the media also runs slightly more positive articles about conservatives as well. I'll try identify the group behind this study.

Also, as for France, I think they're just another country like the rest. They suffered defeats just like any other nation, albeit more publicized. They are a significant economic power and have helped tremendously in the realm of humanitarian assistance, and I commend them for that. That is all.

TekDragon, i'd be really interesting in seeing some sort of evidence for the US giving france nuclear technolog because well as far as i can tell the only "help" france got was because some of its scientists that worked on nuclear technology in a ango canadian team based in montreal during the second world war returned home. Hell then they (the french) even developed a new world standard for extracting uranium.

So well, i'd be really interested to see your proof cause it contradics my own history books.

Concerning the Revolutionary War:

The reason France didn't join until that late in the war is because they wanted to see that America had even the slimmest chance. Before that point in the war (the Battle of Saratoga), France was helping America, but sort of "under the table". France was sending America supplies to help it's fight against Britain.

First of all, this has gone from a stupid beginning title, "It's time to fire-bomb Paris" to an even more ridiculous name calling session for the most part. No city, no matter what, deserves to be fire-bombed. Have you ever read what it is like during a fire-storm brought on by incindiary bombing? Yes, I know war is hell, but to suggest we do it to a city because that country has a difference of opinion... sad.

If you want to discuss politics and history, take it to the correct forum.

Also, a little advice to TekDragon: When debating, try and refrain from verbally abusing your opponents. Sticking to facts is typically the best way to solidify your point and show you know what you are talking about. Repeatedly berating your opponent only tends to accomplish a few things... a) Piss off your opponent, b) Imply that you really don't know a whole lot what you are talking about (ie, a surface knowledge), and c) get the thread you are posting in locked due to incessant flaming brought on by your acidic responses.
