Yeah, you should find a medic or put up with being less effective.

It's called team play. It's another aspect of being good at a game.

EDIT: And it's the reason to play a game online in teams to begin with.

You ever played on a pub TF2 server? Nobody plays medic. You're lucky if on a team of 16 you have one medic. People played a lot of medic in early GA alpha when it was overpowered.

TF2 is a 16 player game and it's very fast paced. No need for a medic. You die every minute anyway.

Why do you assume being a healer is boring? I used to play EverCrack and I was a cleric for 5 years. Not boring at all, people NEED you too.

I played a healer in WoW for six months; it's a thankless, boring job, at least in PVP. It was fun at first until I realized no one gave a damn about me unless I was healing them specifically.

Planetside 2 is going to be very fast paced, you'll probably be dying much faster than every minute with headshots and decreased TTK. I don't see your point.

Have you ever played BC2 where tons of people are medics, because they're not only healers but good combatants? Hell, the healing abilities are secondary to the class compared to the combat.

Stat padding exists in any game. Lol, empty continent, find tower spawn someone over and over and over. "It could be open for exploits" is just an excuse for irrational dislike.

Sounds like early GA where everyone was a medic because they were like 10% worse at fighting than everyone else but had ridiculous self healing ability.

Awesome thing about TF2 classes is that there is little to no penalty to switching to a medic.

In PS, I know I would be inclined to switch over to a medic if I was properly rewarded for it.

As far as fitting this into what we have experienced in PS, there were empire incentives, this could be taken a little farther by promoting an ideal mix. You could tie it in with voice macros, depending on what people are calling for at a base/area/region tie the incentives into the local needs of the situation. You could tie it in with the stats of the killspam... lots of people dying without being rezzed, boost XP for medics...

WoW is the worst and most boring damn game in the world though, that's probably why. I doubt they'll make the TTK *THAT* bad, I'm sure it'll be similar to PS1 in some way. And I'm pretty sure headshots will only work with sniper rifles. If not, then meh.

Yeah, the dragon is kind of ridiculous. I dunno, I just feel I should be able to heal myself slowly, while medics sshould have bitching heal rates, revives, and maybe other tools.

Medics are highly desirable, but not 100% necessary.
