i know this is only game related, but i just wanted to point out that REAL snipers are some of the bravest and most courageous men that can serve in our military.

if captured, the sniper is most certainly going to be shot, because of the fear and hatred he instills in the enemy. He goes out to perform reconnaissance for his fellow soldiers with no support, deep in enemy territory, hoping he will not have to fire a single shot, but knowing full well, that should he be asked to, he can place a bullet anywhere he wants.
he does this alone, sometimes for days or longer, with no support save sometimes for a spotter.


Sniping is not for the weak of heart, body, or mind.
most definitely not momma's boys.

i take this summarize this from numerous books and interviews conducted with real world snipers.

If this was real life, then I'm all over sniping. Much Safer to reach out and touch some one then it is to storm the beachs.

I just hate them in games because when you have all the lives you want why hide like a little sissy? Strap on the big guns, and show them how the West was won!!

Go rent "The Wild Bunch", and you'll see that even though everyone dies they take a lot more people with them, then that chick in Full Metal Jacket gets before she dies.

Seriously, the Vanu will go down because, although you may have strong numbers, all your members are "lone" snipers.

Team sniper here, all for one and one for all and all that cheesy stuff.

I think its funny how the Vanu are bragging about there ability to pwn TR with there snipers, but forget that every last TR soldier will have quick and easy access to a scoped weapon. The only thing better then pinpoint accuracy from forever away is pinpoint accuracy from forever away with a shitload of bullets.

p.s. real snipers pwn, video game snipers are a bunch of annoying bastards, even if some are deadly as hell.

Unregistered.. Really? Go take a look at Black Hawk Down, those two guys around the helicopter? Both of them were snipers, they both recieved the medal of honor and they both took out a sh*t load of guys.

Gaming wise... I think it's all in how it's executed. Sniping in support of a larger group or squad is one thing, sniping out in the middle of no where picking off noobs or patrols is another, and sniping people such as people with higher command points is still another. The first and the third I think will be useful in this.. The second will be for kicks.

I'll admit those guys in Black Hawk down took out a lot of people, but William Hoden, and Earnst Borgnine took out a whole Mexican Villa with a Gatlin Gun at the end of the wild bunch, and that's hard to beat.
