Can't say this looks bad. However, I don't know what to think of it looking like it can collapse into a smaller firearm, like an accordian. These are sick, Ratfusion, especially the smaller carbine (I prefer the standard magazine over the drum however ) I think I just prefer my weapons to look more solid overall, though I can see how the Cycler looks designed as though it's meant to have only one replaceable part, and everything else is just refitted around the barrel. EDIT: This previous "PS2 cycler" has probably been canned, or is now working out as a Nanite Systems Punisher. SOE did mention they were planning to sell side-grades on the market place, and I figure a pre-built NS stamped Punisher capable of all the same modifications would do the trick. I'll be using shotguns most of the time, and if the Engineer class is decent against vehicles and MAXes I will play that, so I won't be bothered with the telescopic bit in first-person view...
... but where are the "circles" and "smooth edges" bits in this weapon's design? I saw these guns before in screenshots and, until recently, I was hoping they were NS rifles. The original PS2 Cycler was just a helluva lot more TR in design, in my opinion. Guess I'll learn to live with it over time, though. Regardless of the overall design, I wholeheartedly agree that the magazine looks way to small for 40 rounds, unless the rifle shoots needles... :P Last edited by FIREk; 2012-01-30 at 07:52 PM. |

I think if it was common pool it'd have a Nanite Systems logo/colour scheme like the pistol we saw. The vehicles don't follow the same pattern for obvious reasons, bu the ATV has "Nanite Systems" on the wheels and it probably shows up on the other common pool vehicles as well.

I sorta felt like it could've been the "glue gun" for medics. As in, not a weapon, but something you perhaps heal/resurrect with.
It looks really off for an actual lethal weapon, somehow. It would also go with the description about thats what the TR soldiers see the most -> Medic coming to ress them.

I am surprised that I haven't heard much said about the barrel (sorry if I missed someone bringing this up).
Though as a standalone design I love the look and I believe it fits the TR art style well, it doesn't seem like the cycler to me. What I find the most surprising is that the old version had double barrels and this one does not. The vertical twin barrels of the old gun made it one of the most unique and interesting guns in PS1 in both look and function. The twin barrels also match the ideals of the TR very well (more is better). To me the double barrels were the primary identity of the Cycler and losing that is what perplexes me the most. Anyone agree/disagree? |
