And what exactly is wrong with having an inventory screen similar to the BF series? I thought BF's inventory management system was decent, certainly a lot more streamlined that PlanetSide's. This one obviously takes on the same management ideas, but gives you way more customization options. The only downside to this that I can see is that less people will be turned away because they couldn't figure out their guns, and more will find it easier to jump into combat because they're presented with an interface that's closer to what they're used to. Oh wait... EDIT: if you're concerned with being able to pack extra glue to repair MAXes in gen holds, here's what you'll need to learn how to do: loot it off of the enemies you've killed. They wouldn't be coming to repair the gen without a glue gun in their hand. In long gen holds, I had to pick ammo off the guys I've killed anyway (that's how I acquired most of the lashers in my locker), so I'm sure picking extra sticks of glue won't be a problem.

Three things come to mind... - The pistol doesn't appear to have any customizations. I hope that's just because they haven't been applied and not because they don't exist. - The armour nano kit looks nigh-identical to our unidentified Nanite Systems "gun". - No sign of ammo/grenade selection. I could see grenades being selectable in the 5 utility slots, but ammo? Perhaps clicking on a weapon in the inventory screen will take you to a new screen where you can select customizations, ammo and such? Last edited by Vancha; 2012-02-09 at 05:27 PM. |

I think attachment and customisation are different. The carbine has a sight and what looks like a suppressor. Fire rate/barrel length etc. look to be separate from attachments.
This is very good, more customisation is always, always good. |

The order listed doesn't make much sense to me.
Light and Heavy Assault should be the top two choices, then Medic and Engineer, then Infil and MAX. Standard Support Specialized The rest of it though is FANTASTIC, much better looking than BF3's Last edited by Marth Koopa; 2012-02-09 at 05:55 PM. |

It looks to me like they are ordered based on how heavy the classes armor is. I suspect that Light Assault, Medic and Engineer all have very similar armor and primary/secondary weapons with the main difference being in the selection of the "Tool" and ancillary equipment (something like Medics get healing stuff, Engineers get repair stuff, Light Assault get a Jump Pack or slightly stronger guns).

Also I remember reading about some classes being able to deploy containers where you could get ammo from similar to BF3. I believe that is why we are not seeing any ammo. Thus giving us more Inventory space for other things. Edit: If you notice at the bottom of the picture you can see what appears to be HP/Shield bars. I think the blue squares are shield. You'll notice the shield mod off to the right of the knife. Also appears to be some sort of radar in the middle? idk, what that is. Edit 2: I think they are going a route similar to EVE on the Shield/Armor/HP. Random thoughts. Also I see will be able to tell the run speed now of certain armor types. It looks like engineer has max run speed. Where as Adv Rexo might have half that. Just looking at bars under equip now. Last edited by Hmr85; 2012-02-09 at 06:22 PM. |

My assumption is that "armor" in that case refers to vehicle armor. Higby mentioned there being both pistol and rifle forms of the medapp at one point, so it makes enough sense that it would apply to the glue gun as well.

Bars like HP and run speed seem weird.
I have no problem with potential health increases, but I don't know if it should be something the player can just get. And shouldn't run speed just be stamina? It's not like they removed jumping, and with sprinting in the game...I hope I can specialize my soldier to be the Lance Armstrong of Auraxis. I'll sprint and jump all the time and no one will be able to shoot me. |

That's an engineer. The rexo equivalent is the heavy assault class. Enclosed helmets are apparently an option for "agile" classes this time around. You can see pictures of some TR light assaulter guys with their faces exposed, and others totally covered. Also, the enclosed "agile" helmets look different than the heavy assault/"rexo" helmets, at least for the TR screens we've seen.
It's not a given that they are displayed because they can be augmented. It may be strictly a user-friendly feature, to show new players what the differences between the classes are apart from weaponry. So they'll know that an infiltrator is fast and a heavy assaulter is slower but more durable because of the bars at the bottom of the screen. Last edited by Warborn; 2012-02-09 at 09:28 PM. |
