Yeah, I don't care about the 3D tech much, but EyeFinity technology or something along the line of it? Well, I think it possibly can stir the pot with many people, regarding the combat balance(whether they be minute or broad).

I personally use 1 17" monitor on my laptop to play games, but if someone wants to use 3 monitors to experience the game let them have 120 degrees. Doesn't bother me in the slightest. I have friends that play games like that and it does make it more immersive having that kind of peripheral vision.

Screenshot comparison from Tribes:
90: http://i.imgur.com/4LxO8.jpg 120: http://i.imgur.com/tzSxb.jpg Video comparison from Quake Live(can't find a really good quality video comparison) For those of us that have been using 110~130 FOVs for decades, 90 is much too zoomed in, and the movement is drastically different. Having the extra sight to your sides isn't the point of FOV , it's the movement of the camera that is important. Someone who plays FPS games in 120 all day would become frustrated at 90 because their actual muscles used for aiming are not going to be used to it. Allowing up to 120 isn't going to make people who play in 90 or lower inferior, and not allowing to go above 90 is going to hurt those that play above 90. This is all about comfort. I encourage the dev team to allow up to 120. |
