And none of the geometry really changed, all it took was moving the pilot's perspective back a foot or so, from the looks of things.

So everybody wins. The cockpit continues to match the external model, the external model didn't require alterations, and people get the visibility they wanted...

Since the VS have lots of mobility, it would make sense there isn't as much metal plating on their aircraft. Plus, moving around so much requires a big field of vision to use properly.
